Introduction

The winter workshop will deal with fundamental aspects of science of joining. The aim is stimulate and promote research in this important area. The presentations, partially pedagogical in nature, will include aspects of composition and microstructural evolution in joints, the nature of mechanical and other physical properties and the modeling tools available for understanding such processes. The ultimate aim is to use the cutting edge knowledge available to us to develop new solution of the problems associated with joining. The workshop also will provide select case studies. The participants are encouraged to present a poster on some of the work they have already done, so as to promote discussion from peers.
Lectures will be drawn from the faculty of IISc, IITs and other leading academic and R & D institutions.

Who should attend?

The School encourages participation of faculty from academic institutions, young scientists from various research institutions and research students in their early stages of research.
