Tentative program is now available.
The workshop will be divided approximately equally between classroom lectures and laboratory in the fields of optical microscopy, crystallography, x-ray diffraction methods, scanning electron microscopy and associated techniques and scanning probe microscopy along with case studies on characterization and failure analysis. Lecturers will be drawn from the faculty of IISc, IITs and government R&D laboratories. A set of course notes will be provided to participants.
Important Note: Given the hands-on nature of the Workshop, the number of participants will be limited to 20.
This workshop is intended for senior research students, postdoctoral fellows and young faculty members from eligible partner institutions in the NRC-M programme. From within this group, priority will be given to departments that have already initiated collaborative programs under NRC-M with IISc.
Each module will cover approxiamtely 4 days divided equally between lectures and hands-on training / demonstrations on the various experimental techniques.
There is no registration fee. Accommodation will be made available while TA and DA will be borne by NRC-M.
Note: The deadline for submission of your application is 7 May 2009. The list of participants will be announced on 15 May 2009.
