Prof. Kamanio Chattopadhyay and Prof. Aloke Paul visited NIT-Durgapur. Prof. Paul visited the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, and had discussions with Prof. D.K. Mondal, Prof. S.K. Mitra, Prof. K.S. Ghosh, Dr. S. Pramanik and Mr. M. Mondal. He also gave an informal presentation about NRC-M and its activities (especially the possibility for collaboration under this programme).
NRC-M sanctions its first collaborative project, to be carried out by Prof. Vikram Jayaram (IISc) and Prof. S. Bhattacharya and Prof. S. Pratihar (NIT-R, Department of Ceramic Engineering). The project is entitled Microstructures and properties of bio-ceramics based on hydroxyapatite and related compounds.
